Pics or it didn’t happen!

So some of you kept pointing on that if photographic evidence is not provided, the event did not take place. This is true.

The professional photos will be ready on Friday, but here’s a teaser.

January 2nd 2010.

I’m ringing in the new year with a new wedding day! We ended up not being able to get married on the 20th because we were still snowed in. A few family members were in town, and we went out to dinner. The following day, my maid of honor and I started replanning the wedding.

Venue.. check. They let us reschedule.

Photographer.. a no go. She had plans on the new date, but recommended another student photographer who is fabulous.

DJ.. a no go. But I ended up finding a DJ that I liked better.

Hair and makeup.. check. Trish from MyMobileSalon did my trial earlier this month, and has that day free, thankfully.

Wedding planner/marriage officiant.. check. I honestly don’t know what I would have done without her.

A few people can’t make the new date… but the important ones will be there.

Seriously. I’m ready to get this over with. NO MORE SNOW. JUST LET ME GET MARRIED, THANKS.

Winter wonderland…

You can plan everything to the last detail, but you can never plan for the weather.

First came the guests canceling.. which actually started on Wednesday. Then came the flight cancelations..

Then came the snow. And I’m glad it actually snowed like a motherfucker because if everything got called off due to ‘fear of snow’ and nothing happened, I would have been pissed.

But it’s all out of my control. We got all of the deposits back that we could, and we’re having a small get together at my Dad’s house tomorrow. We’re getting married.

And in the end, that’s all that really matters.

Bouquets!

So my future sister-in-law and lovely maid of honor made her on bouquet for her wedding. Since I wasn’t born with the DIY gene, I’ve asked her to make mine too. It’s so cute!

And now she’s making this whole thing into a little side business. Love it!

22 days!

Now the real countdown begins. I met with and paid my wedding commissioner/wedding planner her final payment today. Still gotta cut a few more big checks, but until this it’s nice to see four digits in my bank account for once. My parents graciously wrote me a check for the remainder of my budget last week because I’ve mostly been dealing with the vendors. Dealing with sounds so rude.. they’ve been dealing with me. Everyone has been so wonderful and thoughtful during this stressful time. With how sick my mom has been during the planning, I could not have done it without Ginny Chilton. It feels like just yesterday we met at the dress shop. I admitted to her that I had no idea what I was doing, and from that point on she has helped me with everything.

Then there’s my sister-in-law to be, Heather. She has been so wonderful during this entire thing. I couldn’t ask for a better sister or friend.

And Alex of course, the one who has unfortunately been here for my various freakouts. (Unbelievably, they haven’t all been wedding related!)

I just can’t wait for it to be here. I can’t wait to have all of my friends and family around. I can’t wait to marry my partner in crime and havoc. :]

Congrats Heather & Michael!

In the midst of the crazy the has been my life these past few months, two of my friends got married! And it was so fun! And I managed to inherited a bunch of paper lanterns like the budget conscious bride I am, so all and all it was a success.

How cute are they? Her veil attacked her like half way through the vows because it was 4pm at Virginia Beach, and she just tore it off like nothing happened.  So classy!

Alex and I walking down the sand aisle!! I don’t look as cold as I felt that day in this one.

Cheesy bridal party photos are so much fun!!!

The reception was followed by laser tag where I obviously got my butt kicked.

Congratulations to two wonderful people. May your marriage fare better than my laser tag career.

Boobs!

I have boobs. There is a rather large size for someone with my frame. Shopping for bras, bathing suits, my wedding dress = nightmare! Everything makes me kind of look like a call girl . And not even a classy call girl!

So the shitty foam corsets at David’s Bridal weren’t doing me any good. (I’m a little disappointed in them.. they measured me and ordered me a special size.. and it still didn’t fit.) So I wandered into a Victoria’s Secret for the second time in my life, and ended up being refered to a specialty bra shop in Richmond, VA- Blythe.

What I learned:

1) The size 30FF exists.

2) I am a 30FF.

I got a kick ass strapless bra and a regular bra. I didn’t know awesome strapless bras existed for busty girls! I also splurged on a cute little ‘Bride’ tank top. The place is a little pricey.. but definitely worth it! I opened my mailbox today to find a hand written card from the salesgirl who helped me on Saturday, which was totally sweet.

So if you are in driving distance of Richmond, I definitely recommend it!!

Oh yeah.. I’m getting married..

So about a week and a half ago, Alex and I moved in together. Monday I started a new job. Between all of this newness, I’ve been nesting like hardcore. From organizing my closet to making sure we write our grocery/errand list on the white board on the fridge… I love nesting!! I especially love that I’m getting it over with before the wedding.

I know it must be kind of fun to move in together after the wedding, but I just love getting settled in now.. besides.. the new place is right across the street from my new job, so it would make no sense to put off the move.

Whatever. Everyone does things differently.

I meant to write an entry about Paul Pape’s World of Warcraft (and Mii’s!) cake toppers, but this evening I decided to take a short break from WoW again. I quit from February to June abruptly and completely due to starting my last job.. now my break is due to the fact that I do not enjoy conversing with stupid 13 year old boys! (Who would have thunk it?!) If something stresses me out more than I enjoy it, I shouldn’t be doing it. Plain and simple.

Well, I’m going to go fight off the last of this little cold that whoever’s up there seems to have blessed me with at a super convenient time. Later!

Invitations!

I was with Alex at the Stony Point mall the other day in Richmond, and decided to go into Papyrus to look at some invites. I found exactly what I wanted, the salesgirl wasn’t too pushy, and Alex only felt like he was in hell for about 20 minutes. Can I say mission accomplished?

The invites should come sometime this week. I couldn’t find them on the site to show y’all here. They’re the ones that fold up with a detachable RSVP.. pretty simple. The idea of anything with twelve million envelopes and flair and shit literally made me insane.

I move on Sunday. I start a new job on the 31st. So things are going to be super busy for the next two weeks while I try to settle into the new place and job. Wish me luck!
